Muhibbah Malaysian Monday Roundup No.12

A yaer has gone past since my friend Sharon from Test With A Skewer (her regular Malaysian Monday posts formed the template for our much loved event) and I started this event to better promote Malaysian food to all food lovers.

It has since gone from strength to strength with the support of old and new blogger friends from all over the world. We can only hope the hundreds of entries we received and shared via the monthly roundup for the last 12 months have given you a better insight into the rich and exciting cuisine of ours.

A very big and warm thank you from  both of us to all who has participated in the event and also to all of you who has been following MMM for the past 12 months. We hope we will continue to have your supports for the next 12, 24 and 36 month to come!

Sharon will be hosting the next roundup, please send all your entries to its.sharon@gmail.com. To find out more about MMM and how to participate please click here.

Without further ado, lets look at what's on offer this month!

One that doesn't need introduction to readers of MMM, Aunty Cheah from No Frill Recipe came up with 3 dishes;

Are you tempted by these exquisite looking flower buns?

Some of this gingo nut porridge will certainly cool you system down during the hotter months.

Finally a savoury dish that I am going to try very soon - lemongrass chicken.

***

Next we have Lisa from My Lemony Kitchen with 2 entries;

First a dish that you should be very familiar with by now, lets' check out her version of pan mee (hand pulled noodles).

How attractive are these Nyonya rice dumplings she made for the Dragon Boat Festival?

***

Gertrude from My Kitchen Snippets is another friend who has been a great supporter from day one;

One would need to cook extra rice to go with this rendang ayam goreng (fried chicken rendang).

Looking for a perfect afternoon snack? Check out her cekodok bawang (onion fritters)!

She also prepared these coconut  pandan buns for those who prefer something sweet.

***

Please welcome Biren from Roti N Rice, a talented blogger from Minnesota who joined us for the first time;

She sent in one of my favourite snacks of all time - kuih bingka  (tapioca cake).

***

Next up is Veronica from Quay Po Cooks who has been a regular contributer to MMM of late;

Lets start with her mum's stewed chicken feet , I can imagine why this is her son's favourite.

Homemade bak kut teh, yum!

And her 3rd entry for the month is this very comforting thick bean curd soup.

***

Lena from Frozen Wings is back again;

With this very original recipe, please check out her eggplant with chicken floss.

***

Busy mother Sherrie from a 1/2 food blog also managed one entry this month;

Have your pen and paper ready to write down the ingredients for her black glutinous rice with crunchy peanuts.

***

Another old friend and MMM supported Kristy from My Little Space is back with 3 entries;

Have you tried Indian rojak before? This is on my list!

Now who could resist these golden and crispy fried taro prawns?

Her last dish is a simple asam curry fish perfect for those who want a quick and delicious meal.

***

We would like to welcome another new participant, Diana from Kebun Malay - Kadazan Girls;

Check out her take on the popular hawker fare - stir fried radish cake.

***

Janine from Not the kitchen Sink is back again with 2 delicious posts;

First up is her $20 budget meal - mee hoon kueh  (hand pulled noodles).

Followed by these delicious homemade steamed buns.

***

Last but not least my friend Sharon from Test With A Skewer, without whom there will be no MMM to start with;

Her delicious curry laksa will make the chilly nights a lot more bearable.

These humble sweet puff biscuits will certainly bring back equally sweet childhood memories to many.

  4. I am not really a good cook because I spent more time in kebun growing plants. But it was fun to join in. Congratulation on your first anniversary for Muhibbah Malaysia.
