Craving for burger and chips but refused to visit (or to be seen at) the golden arches? make it at home! This is a relatively easy meal to prepare at home but tastes heaps better than the shop bought ones, not to mention how much healthier it is. Feel free to modify the meal to suit your taste! I certainly will prepare some roasted beets for our next homemade burgers.
P.S Do not overcook the burgers and allow them to rest a little before serving.
serves 4
you'll need;
1 kg of good quality minced beef or lamb
1 large red onion, chopped
2 vine ripen tomatoes, sliced
mixed salad leaves
4 gherkins, halved lengthwise
cheese of your choice, I used Kangaroo Island smoked cheddar
hamburger buns
onion relish, click HERE for recipe
olive oil
salt and pepper to taste
frozen oven baked chips
For the meat patties - add chopped onions to minced beef, season and mix well. Divide meat mixture into 5 equal serves and form into burgers.
Prepare the onion relish, click HERE for recipe.
Have all the components ready.
Bake the chips according to the instructions on the packaging.
Cook the burgers on a hot griddle for 10 minutes (medium rare) or cook to your liking. Rest before serving.
Place burgers on the toasted buns follow by cheese and onion relish, serves immediately with salad ingredients and hot chips.
Your burger meal looks good buddy! We recently spent over 40 dollars for something less impressive at Grill'd..roasted beetroot will be a great addition! Cheers buddy!
