Just A Little Prettiness 9

It is an overcast Saturday morning here in Melbourne, sadness and loneliness is surrounding me. I realised I have not posted anything on prettiness for a while, perhaps this might help to shake off some of the dark clouds. Here are a few photos of a plant I have kept for several years, it does the same thing year after year without fail. Does anyone know the name of the plant? Photo above shown when the flower bud first emerged. Enjoy and have a great weekend.
P.S My lovely friend Shaz from Sydney actually did a goggle and found out this plant is named Haemanthus coccineus, thanks darling! To read more about this stunning creature click HERE.

  5. It's wonderful that you captured the different stages of the life of the flower-they're all beautiful. I think flowers are beautiful even when they're dead.

  12. You know what I thought when I saw the first picture? What a pretty snail with pink shell. Well Australia is home to plenty of species, deadly or otherwise, so don't laugh at my conclusion.
Go outside, explore, mingle and stop feeling lonely.
Lovely looking plant. I can't guess an herb from a shrub, so I ain't the right person you should be asking that question.Do tell what that "flowering plant" that is.

  19. That is so very pretty. For some reason I thought the first photo was a crab! I was very curious as I'd never seen it before so I googled and I think it's a Haemanthus coccineus. Here's a link:
